The Hypocrisy of the BBC in Sacking N-word DJ
As you have probably read, “veteran” BBC Radio Devon presenter, David Lowe, has been sacked for inadvertently (we assume) playing a version of The Sun Has Got His Hat On which had “nigger” in the lyrics.
It is a very well known song, of course and I never knew there were versions which contained the now worst word in the English language (even though some black folks refer to themselves by this word) so I guess Mr Lowe also didn’t have a clue as he spun the disc for his easy listening show for older Devonians.
Even though he apologised, he was told by the station’s boss, Emma Clements, to fall on his sword. As he explains on his blog, the stress was too much for him because of his underlying condition,
Dystonia is NOT “a stress condition” as widely reported in the news. On the contrary, it is a neurological condition and like all neurological conditions (e.g. Parkinson’s, Motor Neurone Disease, MS, etc) it reacts very badly indeed to unexpected periods of stress. That’s where I’ve been over the past couple of weeks, so I now have quite a recovery curve to tackle. It’s going to take time, but I know I’ll have all your kind comments and good wishes to help me along the way.
Despite the decision being overturned after the mainstream media got a hold of the episode and Mr Lowe was offered his job back (for which I believe he received about £100 a week), the stress has made him hang up his microphone for good.
Not sure why the producer didn’t take the blame, or the BBC corporately for that matter. Surely, any material considered this unacceptable should have been removed from all radio stations’ inventories. But I imagine they love stories like this.
The hypocrisy with the BBC is that it is a filthy, blasphemous, anti-British, politically correct madhouse of pompous, overpaid Guardian-worshipping humanists who believe that they can treat viewers and non-PC staff with contempt.
The Devon station received a single complain for that ‘N-word’. Compare this with the showing of Jerry Springer, the Opera on BBC2 in 2005 and which attracted many thousands of complaints before broadcast and even more afterwards. Some estimates are as high as 60,000 total complaints. My telephone call, email and fax probably count as three!
The BBC are also hypocrites because they’ll play rap ‘music’ with the most vulgar lyrics. They’ll also play rock music glorifying drugs, promiscuity and just about everything unsavoury, but hey, dumbing down the kids and being part of the controlled music industry is part of their unwritten constitution.
It seems common for rap artists to refer to women as “bitches”. Where are the feminists at the BBC when you need them?
As Eminem is perhaps the world’s premier rapper and has possibly had more play time on BBC radio stations than any other, I Googled eminem lyrics bitch and the first result was about a song he wrote called “Kill You”. Warning: not for the fainthearted.
He calls his mother a “slut” and talks about raping her then murdering her then just talks utter demonic drivel, such as,
Bitch I’ma kill you! Like a murder weapon, I’ma conceal you
in a closet with mildew, sheets, pillows and film you
Buck with me, I been through hell, shut the hell up!
I’m trying to develop these pictures of the Devil to sell ‘em
I ain’t “acid rap,” but I rap on acid
Got a new blow-up doll and just had a strap-on added
WHOOPS! Is that a subliminal hint? NO!
Just criminal intent to sodomize women again.
Not sure if the BBC plays or has played this particular ditty, but this clown is mainstream. Whereas, some poor old broadcaster unintentionally offends for the only time in 32 years and he’s kicked out.
All I can say is that I am delighted to be approaching a decade since I last paid for a television licence, because the BBC is a hate-filled mess of sickness and confusion.
