FLC204, Brief Reflections on the Revolution in Egypt, Sean Gabb, 12th February 2011.

Abstract: Yawn…. Egypt very foreign…. Not like us at all…. Moslem Brotherhood waiting its chance…. Men in beards…. Settling down at last…. No real change out there…. Business as usual in oil market…. Real light bulbs on sale in Alexandria…. All a good advert for Richard Blake’s Blood of Alexandria…. Yawn – when will there be something else to watch on the telly?

  1. I wish I hadn’t asked now.

  2. That’s the best damning review I’ve ever seen in a single sentence!

  3. That ‘brief reflection’ is at least as informative everthing i had read and listened to in the media over the last few weeks.

A lot of ‘well there are really big crowds so people must be unhappy, but we’re not sure what exactly will make them happy, or what they are going to do, or what the State or army are going to do’ All delivered in portentous tones and stretched out over thousands of words.
