The link is intermittent: my apologies, I can’t seem to fix it. If you can’t get it, just google “mars.ppt” and download it yourself.

And here’s more proof that Man is the Lord of Creation:-

  1. That powerpoint was from way back in ’03.

Just thought you would want to know.

    • Thank you for that.

I’m sure there are lots of people out there who would still like it for all that it is “old”…

It’s the first time I had seen it anyway. And my post of it has got lots of views so I am very happy!

  2. Is this bona fide information regarding celestial events in August 2009? Will folks actually be able to see Mars as large as the full moon — with modest optical magnification, say 50-100x?

  3. Sorry to say this won’t happen this year. It happened back in 2003.

  4. I don’t care when it happened – it was very nice whatever!

Also it is bringing traffic to this blog like you can’t imagine.

  5. Get hold of yourselves, folks! While the FACTS might be correct (I haven’t verified that Mars and Earth will be at their closest approach), most of you seem to be missing one very important point: 27 Seconds of arc is nearly 60 times SMALLER than 30 MINUTES of arc. The 27 Seconds is the stated apparent diameter of Mars at the encounter, the 30 Minutes of arc that of the Moon. Mars would appear as a very small circle, albeit red in colour, compared to the Moon. This was circulated a year or two ago also. It is a HOAX!

  6. My blog is getting lots of traffic, as well! Mars as big as the moon

  7. Bipedal Tetrapod

It’s not a “hoax”, it’s just old news.

  8. This is bad science. This is just the satandard rubbish information that gets sent round every year.

In 2003 Mars was slightly closer to earth than normal – but you still needed a 75x telescope to see it. And in 2009 it’s behind the Sun.

Just because something gets visitors doesn’t stop it being bad science.

  9. It’s really coolto hear people on mars with walkie talkies

  10. No. They dont have walkie talkies on mars.
