The Libertarian Alliance: BLOG

This is quite sweet and interesting. Not sure it will catch on in the UK, where we have “foot ballers’” “wives”, but it puts a new take on “AFFORDABLE HOUSING”

Affordable housing… is this what the fascist pigs who concrete the South or Britain over fully, mean? Don’t think so somehow!

I don’t think I’d like to live in one, but for billions of people the world over, it could be an improvement. I am of course a very fortunate man…for now.

    This article on rammed-earth housing caught my attention in between the misdirected “overkill” diatribes on “socialism” and “Guardian Readers”. I do NOT feel overly threatened by Guardian Readers… The Authoritarian “Right” remains the main enemy. >:-}

    My “Dream Home” will be hidden in a 100 ft. clearing in a small wood. Nestling amid the trees will be a 50 ft. diameter Geodesic Dome on a concrete foundation, surrounded by a 10 ft. wide moat filled underwater with coiled razor wire. Very eco-friendly. And inexpensive.

    The structure is the same as that use by the Eden Project — Mero framework with super-strong ETFE triple glazing. Self-sufficient for electricity and water. The entrance to the dome hinges down to form a drawbridge. There is a concrete revetment surrounding tha base, to enable return fire. In dire emergencies, the moat can be flooded with petrol and “illuminated.” There’s a central steel armoured “Panic Room” where I can survive safely until my Special Forces friends arrive.

    The small wood has notices by the path saying “Atomic Energy Research Authority - DANGER — keep out” or “Tiger Conservancy — keep out” or whatever works best.

    Suggestions for construction features are welcome!

    Regards,

    Tony
